English divine, was born about 1560, and became master of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, in 1607, He was one of the forty-seven divines appointed by James I to prepare our present authorized version of the Holy Scriptures, being one of the committee on the Apocrypha. He died February 15, 1619.
