ADMATHA ( Esther 1:14 ). One of the seven wise men or counsellors of Ahasuerus, who were granted admittance to the king’s presence (cf. 2 Kings 25:19 ).

<translit> ad´ma </translit> - <translit> tha </translit> , <translit> ad </translit> - <translit> mā´tha </translit> ( אדמתא , <translit> 'adhmāthā' </translit> ): One of "the seven princes of Persia and Media, who saw the king's face, and sat first in the kingdom" ( Esther 1:14 ); compare 2 Kings 25:19 ; Ezra 7:14 . The Septuagint gives only three names.
