Bilgah [1]

(Heb. Bilgah', בַּלְגָּה, prob. cheerful, but according to First, First-born; Sept. Βελγάς and Βαλγάς ), the name of two priests.

1. The head of the fifteenth sacerdotal course for the temple service, as arranged by David ( 1 Chronicles 24:14). B.C. 1043.

2. A priest who returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel and Jeshua ( Nehemiah 12:5; Nehemiah 12:18), B.C. 536; perhaps the same as the BILGAI of Nehemiah 10:8.
