Converted at the age of eleven, he became a Methodist Sunday- school teacher, then exhorter, and joined the United Methodist Free Church. He entered the ministry in 1865, and travelled in five circuits with acceptance, when his health failed; in 1875 he became a supernumerary, and closed a useful life at Wellington, Jan. 15, 1876.
