Giovanni Battista Becci [1]

an Italian theologian, a native of Castiglione, entered the Benedictine order at Monte Cassino, and became abbot of Arezzo; this office he held at the time of his death, which occurred in 1687. He was especially known by his anagrams. He wrote, Jac. Cavaccii Elogia Illustrium Anachoretarum (Rome, 1662): — Veritas Anagrammate Explor'ta ad Varia Texenda Encomia (Padua, 1668).
