Samuel Baker [1]

a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Baltimore, Sept. 13, 1793. He removed to East Tennessee with his father when about five years old; soon after was left an orphan; was noted far his uprightness of life; moved to Ohio at the age of seventeen; experienced conversion about that time; received license to preach in 1815, and in 1816 entered the Ohio Conference, in which he labored zealously until his death, Sept. 25, 1823.
