Ashdodite [1]

(Heb. in the plur. with the art. haAshdodim', הָאִשְׁדּוֹדִים; Sept. omits, but some copies have Ἀζώτιοι , Vulg. Azot i, A.V. "the Ashdodites"), the inhabitants ( Nehemiah 4:7 [Hebrews 1]) of ASHDOD (See Ashdod) (q.v.).
