Luigi Aprosio [1]

(afterwards ANGELICO), a vicar. general of the Congregation of our Lady of Consolation atn Genoa, was born at Vintimiglia, in the republic of Genoa, Oct. 29, 1607, and entered the Order of the Augustines at the age of fifteen. . He taught philosophy five years; after which he travelled in Italy and settled at Venice in 1639, in the Convent of St. Stephen. He collected the library of the Augustines at Vintimiglia, which made him famous for learning. He died Feb. 23,1681. His principal work is Bibliotheca Aprosiana (Bologna, 1673). See Chalmers, Biog.
