Cyrus Mann [1]

an American Congregational minister and author, was born at Oxford, N. H., April 3, 1785; was educated at Dartmouth College (class of 1806); was principal of Gilmanton Academy two years; teacher of the Troy high- school one year; tutor at Dartmouth College from 1809 to 1814; pastor of the Church at Westminster, Mass., from 1815 to 1841; then of Robinson Church, Plymouth, three years; next a teacher at Lowell several years; finally, from 1852 to 1856 acting pastor of the North Falmouth Church. He died at Stoughton, Mass., Feb. 9, 1859. Mr. Mann published An Epitome of the Evidences of Christianity: History of the Temperance Reformation: Memoir of Mrs. Myra W. Allen; and some Sermons.
