Kiriath
Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [1]
Kiriath is the st. constr. of Kiriah , the complement of which, - jearim , seems to have fallen out in Joshua 18:28 , from its resemblance to the word for ‘cities’ which follows. Therefore we ought probably to read Kiriath-jearim , a reading supported by the LXX [Note: Septuagint.] .

kir´i - ath ( קרית , ḳiryath , "city"; the King James Version Kirjath ): Mentioned ( Joshua 18:28 ) as a city of Benjamin; has been identified with Ḳuriet el ‛Enab , "town of grapes," a prosperous town on the highroad between Jerusalem and Jaffa; it is sometimes spoken of by the inhabitants as Ḳurieh . It is, however, generally thought that Kiriath here stands for Kiriath-Jearim (which see). See PEF , III, 132, Sh Xvii .
