Morrish Bible Dictionary [1]

Place from whence Jews returned from exile.  Ezra 2:59;  Nehemiah 7:61 . Supposed to be the Thelme of Ptolemy, a city of the low salt tract near the Persian Gulf. The name signifies "Hill of Salt."

Telmelah (‘hill of salt’). A Babylonian town of unknown site (  Ezra 2:59 ,   Nehemiah 7:61 ); called in 1Es 5:36 Thermeleth .
