Hebrew A town originally of Bashan, and called Sebam or Shebam ( Numbers 32:3), but afterward assigned to Reuben who rebuilt it ( Numbers 32:3; Numbers 32:38). Famous for its vines ( Isaiah 16:8-9). Now the ruin Es Sameh , four miles E. of Heshbon.
