(rather Acud, Ἀκοὐδ by erroneous transcription for Ἀκοὐβ , Acub,  1 Esdras 5:31), the progenitor of one of the families of the temple-servants

( Ίερόδουλοι . i.e. Nethinim), said to have returned from the captivity ( 1 Esdras 5:30); evidently the AKKUB (See Akkub) (q.v.) of the parallel texts ( Ezra 2:45, or rather,  Ezra 2:42; comp.  Nehemiah 7:48, where the name is not found).
