Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [1]

ANON . A contraction for ‘in one (moment),’ ‘anon’ means at once , as   Matthew 13:20 ‘he that received the seed into stony places, the same is be that heareth the word, and anon (RV [Note: Revised Version.] ‘straightway’) with joy receiveth it.’

King James Dictionary [2]

ANON', adv.

1. Quickly without intermission: soon immediately.

The same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it.  Matthew 13 .

2. Sometimes now and then at other times accompanied with ever, ever and anon.
