He was educated at All- Souls' College, Oxford, England, of which he became a fellow; ordained, and presented to the rectory of Orton Longueville, Huntingdonshire, and in 1807 proceeded to [[Canada]] as a missionary. He first settled at St. Armand, thence removed to Halley, and on January 1, 1826, was consecrated bishop of Quebec. He died July 13, 1837.
