He received license as local preacher before he was twenty-one. In 1822 he joined the New York Conference, and continued to labor till 1851. He made New York his residence during the remainder of his life, and was much esteemed by ministers and laymen of his own and other churches. He died in New York city, Nov. 4, 1860.
