He joined the [[Maine]] [[Conference]] in 1846, and labored until 1849, when he located for the purpose of attending the [[Concord]] Biblical Institute. He resumed his place in conference in 1850, and continued in active service until the session of 1868, when he received a supernumerary relation. After an illness of ten days, he died at Cape [[Elizabeth]] Ferry Aug. 30, 1868. His labors were characterized by zeal and discretion, by ability and ministerial fidelity.
