In 1816 he was licensed, and installed over Stony [[Creek]] and [[Bethesda]] churches, in N. C., where ha continued to labor devotedly for upwards of thirty years. During the later years of his life he preached occasionally in the destitute portions of his neighborhood. He died September 11, 1858. See Wilson, Presb. Hist. Almanac, 1860, page 77. </p>

a Presbyterian minister, was born in Orange County, N.C., in March 1783. He received a limited education, and was not a graduate of aiy college.
