J.; graduated in the college at Princeton, N. J.; studied theology in the [[Princeton]] Theological Seminary; was licensed in 1818, and ordained in 1821. He labored for many years in Delaware, and died in Wilmington, Del., Jan. 7, 1865. Mr. Patterson was a simplehearted, good man, an excellent preacher, and a favorite pastor. See Wilson, Presb. Hist.
