In his fifteenth year he began to frequent meetings of Dissenters, and at length, with his father's reluctant consent, joined the Baptists, in his eighteenth year. He became pastor at Holywell, in North Wales, and shortly afterwards of a small congregation of Welsh [[Baptists]] in Liverpool, but after a time removed to London; soon returned to [[Wales]] and became pastor at Ferryside, Carmarthenshire.
