He graduated from Williams [[College]] in 1826; studied at Auburn Seminary, was licensed by the Presbvtery of Cayuga in 1829, and ordained an evangelist; soon after went to Ohio and Indiana; labored several years in the bounds of the presbyteries of Miami and Chillicothe; in 1838 became a member of the [[Presbytery]] of Erie; in 1840 removed to Springfield, Pennsylvania; afterwards resided at Oberlin, Ohio, preaching as he was able, until his death, April 29, 1867.
