He studied at Oxford, became an adherent of Dr. John [[Henry]] Newman, shared with him the monastic life in Littlemore, near Oxford, assisted him in the edition of Lives of British Saints, became a [[Roman]] [[Catholic]] in 1843, and received holy orders at Langres, in France. He then went to Rome, and after his return to London he became a member of the [[Oratory]] there, andi died April 8, 1876.
