a Congregational minister, was born at Fairhaven, Vermont, August 31, 1815. He studied at Castleton Seminary; graduated from Middlebury College in 1837; was a teacher in Pickens County, Alabama, in 1838 and 1839, and in Lowndes County, Mississippi, in 1840. He became a member of Lane Theological Seminary in 1841, and graduated from Auburn Theological Seminary in 1843; was ordained at Orwell, Vermont, December 21 of the same year; dismissed May 7, 1862; May 28 following was installed over the Church at Manchester, and died May 18, 1877.
