Nehemiah Cox [1]
an English Particular Baptist, was born at Bedford, being a member of John Bunyan's Church there. He was well educated, and "a very excellent, learned, and judicious divine." He was ordained in October 1671; in 1673 preached for some time at Hitchin; then at Cranfield; and in 1675 went to London, and was ordained joint pastor of the Church at Petty France, where he continued till the Revolution in 1688. He is said to have been a good Greek and Hebrew scholar, and to have been imprisoned in early life for preaching.
