John Edwin Corey [1]
a Congregational minister, was born at Mansfield, Massachusetts, July 29, 1825. He graduated at Amherst College in 1850; was ordained in 1853; labored as an evangelist for a short time in northern Ohio; preached in Massachusetts in the following places: Freetown, Chesterfield,Yarmouth. and North Wrentham, at which latter place he died, November 30, 1865. Mr. Corey was an indefatigable student, and a clear and logical thinker. At the time of his death he had nearly ready for the press a Manual of Congregational Polity and Principles. See Cong.
