For five years he toiled as an evangelist in northern New York, amid poverty and hardships, and saw many revivals. He next labored at East Weare, N. H., and, as the result of a powerful revival, organized a Church. In 1841 he removed to Limerick, Me. Overwork and application to study broke .down his health, and in 1843 he returned to New Hampshire.
