He was ordained priest March 19, 1643, and became superior of the Oratory of Beaune in 1649; shortly afterwards he was elected theologal of the chapter and superior of the hospital. He filled these offices for twenty years with much zeal and piety, and in 1669 was appointed governor of the Oratory of Rouen.
