Campbell, John (3),
a Presbyterian minister, was born in Scotland in 1713, and came to America in 1734. Charleston and New Providence, N. J., petitioned New Brunswick Presbytery that, if he should be licensed, they might have his services. May 19,1747, Campbell was taken on trial, licensed Oct. 14, and ordained and installed over the above churches, Oct. 27. On May 1, 1753, he was struck with palsy in the pulpit, and died a week later.
