After completing his theological course at Mercersburg, Pa., he returned to his native state, and was licensed and ordained by the [[Classis]] of North Carolina, March 12, 1848. In the same year he became pastor of five congregations in [[Davidson]] County, N. C. In 1858 he accepted a call from the East Rowan charge, where he labored for ten years, and then, in 1868, removed to Anna, Ill., where he died, Nov. 2,1870. See Harbaugh, Fathers of the Germ. Ref. a German Reformed minister, was born in Catawba County, N. C., Oct. 4,1820.
