<p> a German prelate, was born at [[Strasburg]] in the 15th century. He became clerk of the pontifical ceremonies in 1483, afterwards bishop of Citta di Castello, and died May 6,1505. He is the author of Diarium, or journal of pope [[Alexander]] VI, which is curious, but has never yet been published entire; excerpts from it were published by [[Leibnitz]] under the title, Specimen Historice Arcance S. [[Anecdota]] de Vita Alexandri VI; it was published in a more complete form by Eckhard, in his Corpus Historicum. [[Burchard]] also wrote [[Ordo]] pro Informatione Sacerdotum (Rome, 1509), and aided in the correction of the Liber Pontificalis (ibid. 1497, fol.). -See Biog.
