He experienced religion in 1830, and in 1836 entered the New [[England]] Conference, wherein belabored faithfully till 1857, when he became a supernumerary, in which relation, and that of a superannuate, he remained to the close of his life, March 9, 1876. Mr. Boyden was characterized by humility, honesty, purity, and sincere, earnest devotion to the cause of Christ. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1876, p. 69. </p>
