In 1838 he removed to the West Indies, where he became one of the most efficient ministers. From 1846 he was chairman and general superintendent of the missions in the St. Vincent and [[Demerara]] district. He died of the cholera at Barbadoes, July 9, 1854. He was most indefatigable in relieving the suffering in that sad period. See Minutes of the British Conference, 1854. </p>
