He held the living of St. Botolph, Aldgate, London, from 1666 to 1682, when king [[Charles]] II bestowed upon him the deanery of Chester. He died Sept. 18,.1691. His writings are, Directions concerning the [[Matter]] and Style of Sermons (1671, 12mo):-Conjectura circa Επινομην D. Clementis Romani, cui sunijciuntur Castigationes in Epiphanium et Petaviumn de Echaristia, de Calibatu Clericorum, et de Orationibus pro. Vita Functis (London, 1683, 4to).
