<p> a Presbyterian minister, was born at Baltimore, Md., about 1803. He prepared for college in the Classical School at Gettysburg, Pa., and graduated at Dickinson [[College]] in 1824. On his graduation, he was chosen professor of mathematics in Miami University, Oxford, O.; but remained there only a few years, when he entered [[Princeton]] Theological Seminary, and after attending one session, was licensed May 16, 1829. He labored for a few months as a missionary in Ohio, and was ordained as an evangelist at [[Baltimore]] in December of the same year. He was installed as pastor of the Presbyterian [[Church]] at Petersburg, Va., July 10, 1830; but was stricken down with a fever, and died Aug. 10 of the same year. See Sprague, Annals of the Amer.
