He was licensed by the Newcastle [[Presbytery]] in 1767, and in October of the same year presented his credentials to the [[Hanover]] Presbytery, and accepted a call to Sugar Creek, N. C. He subsequently removed to Bullock's Creek, S. C., where he exercised his ministry and taught a school of high order, as he had also done in North Carolina. He was a man of small stature. but of fine talents and accomplishments, and an uncommonly animated and popular preacher. He died July 30, 1809. A volume of his sermons was published after his death.
