Shear Jashub [1]

("a remnant shall return.") Isaiah's son who accompanied him in meeting Ahab. His name was a standing memorial to Ahaz, symbolizing the saving of the remnant of Judah when Israel was cast away ( Isaiah 7:1-7;  Isaiah 10:20-22;  Isaiah 6:13), therefore that Pekah of Israel and Rezin of Damascus could not succeed.
