(Lat. id., for the Gr. text is no longer extant; prob. for Ahijai), a person named as son of Phinees (Phinehas), and father of Achitob (Ahitub) in the list of sacerdotal ancestors of Esdras or Ezra (2 [Vulg. 4] Ezra 1:2); but, as the parallel list ( Ezra 7:3) gives no corresponding name, it is either an interpolation or, perhaps, a corruption for the AHIMAAZ (See Ahimaaz) of 1 Chronicles 6:8-9.
