He pursued his studies at Hamilton; was ordained at Broadalbin, N.Y., Feb. 13, 1823; set apart as a missionary to [[Burmah]] the following May, and arrived at [[Rangoon]] in December of the same year. The war between Burmah and the English seriously deranged missionary operations. In 1827 the mission was removed to Maulmain, where Mr. Wade labored until, in 1831, he began missionary work in Arracan. His missionary life, which was crowned with abundant success, covered a period of fifty years. Twice he visited his native land, in 1832 and 1847. Just before leaving the last time for the scene of his labors in the East, he said, "I have lived to see the baptism of fifteen thousand." He died at Rangoon, Burmah, June 10, 1872. See the V.Y.
