He travelled the [[Montpelier]] District, [[Vermont]] Conference, for four years, and took once more a superannuated relation, which he held until his death, at Montpelier, Jan. 24, 1866. Elisha J. Scott [1]
a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Greensborough, Vt., Aug. 11, 1803, and joined the Baptist Church at the age of twelve. He continued in that Church about seven years, when he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, and in 1828 entered the New England Conference. He was ordained deacon June 27, 1830, and elder Aug. 11, 1832. After fifteen years he was made supernumerary, and was then superannuated for nine years, when he became again effective. He travelled the Montpelier District, Vermont Conference, for four years, and took once more a superannuated relation, which he held until his death, at Montpelier, Jan. 24, 1866.
