mḗ - thū´shā́ - el ( מתוּשׁאל , methūshā'ēl ): A descendant of Cain, and father of Lamech in the Cainite genealogy ( Genesis 4:18 ). The meaning of the name is doubtful. Dillmann suggested "suppliant or man of God."
