Glendy John, D.D
a Presbyterian minister, was born in Derry, Ireland, June 4, 1755, and was educated in the University of Glasgow, where, after devoting some time to the study of theology, he was licensed and ordained. He subsequently accepted a call from the Church in Londonderry, where he remained till the Irish insurrection of 1798 obliged him to leave his native land.
