He graduated from Union [[College]] in 1814, studied theology one year thereafter at [[Princeton]] Seminary, was licensed by [[Hudson]] [[Presbytery]] in September 1816, and ordained pastor at Adams, Jefferson County, N.Y., in 1819, Where he remained till 1823. In 1827 he founded the Oneida Manual [[Labor]] Institute at Whitesborough, and in 1832 Knox College, at Galesburg, Illinois. He died there, September 13, 1862. See Wilson, Presb. Hist.
