He studied at Kutztown, at Reading, and at Freeland seminary; graduated in 1862 from [[Gettysburg]] Theological Seminary; in 1863 was ordained by the [[Ministerium]] of Pennsylvania, and took charge of a congregation near Lykens. After several years he united with the [[Synod]] of East Pennyslvania, resigned his charge, organized new congregations at Lyons, Millerstown, Hereford, and Pleasantville, also acting as pastor at Mohrsville with extraordinary success.
