He first settled at Shal-don, Devonshire, where he remained twelve years, and then, in 1835, became classical tutor in Airedale College, Bradford. After eight years he resigned his post-lion in the college, and lived in retirement the rest of his life, engaged in literary labors. In 1875 he removed to Leek, where he died, April 16, 1882.
