He became connected with the boarding-school at Jellasore, and was baptized, with three others, August 29, 1847. He is said to have possessed more than ordinary talents, and for some time was employed in the mission as a school-teacher. A little more than a year previous to his death, having given evidence of his call to the ministry, he was received on probation as a preacher of the [[Gospel]] to his fellow-countrymen.
