Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [1]
KONÆ ( Jdt 4:4 ). An unknown town of Palestine (AV [Note: Authorized Version.] , following a different reading, ‘the villages’).
International Standard Bible Encyclopedia [2]
kṓ´ne ( Κωνά , Kōná ): Some manuscripts have κώμας , kṓmas , from which we have in the King James Version "the villages." The name occurs in the account of the measures taken to secure the country against Holofernes ( Judith 4:4 ). If Kōna be correct, we may possibly identify the place with Cyamon.
