<p> a [[Baptist]] minister, was born in South Carolina in 1825, and began to preach in 1852. For fifteen years he labored with zeal and success in his native state. In 1867 he removed to the northern part of Arkansas, and after spending a few years in that section of the state, he went to the southern part and labored for some time among the churches in the [[Columbia]] Association.
