E'non. (springs). A place "near to Salim," at which John baptized. John 3:23. It was evidently west of the Jordan, compare John 3:22 with John 3:26 and with John 1:28, and abounded in water. This is indicated by the name, which is merely a Greek version of a Chaldee word signifying "springs".
