His zeal against Port [[Royal]] gained for him a great deal of credit in his society. He was successively rector of several places, provincial in Portugal, rector of the college of [[Clermont]] at Paris, and finally died at Blois in 1668. Among his writings we notice, Le Jansseisme Coanfondu. (Paris, 1651). This work was censured by the archbishop of Paris, M. de Gondi, and strongly combated by Arnauld. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
