In 1864 he became principal of Genesee Wesleyan Seminary at Lima, N.Y.; in 1866-69 studied at the University of Berlin; in 1871 became professor of history and logic in [[Syracuse]] University, and in 1885 professor of historical theology in Garrett Biblical Institute. He died April 17, 1891. He was for a time art editor of the Ladies' Repository, and was the author of [[Christian]] Archaeology. </p>
